League One club Oldham Athletic sign Ronaldo, brother of Rivaldo and Trezeguet

Oldham Athletic have signed Ronaldo... Brown.

No, not the Real Madrid superstar, the 16-year-old who was released by Liverpool.

The teenager was named after the legendary Brazilian striker and, it turns out his whole family might be a bit football mad.

Ronaldo's mother Denise explained that she names her children based off what international football team was dominating in the year of their birth.

"I love football and the boys were born in 1998 - the year of the World Cup. I liked the Brazil side so I named them after Ronaldo and Rivaldo."

Ronaldo and Rivaldo, hmmm,.. that's odd, but it's a nice homage to that great Brazil team. While we're at it, does she have any other children? If so, what are their names?

"They also have a younger sister called Trezeguet after the French player (David)."

Oh right, that is a bit mental. In fairness, Trezeguet was one of the nicer options considering the French team of that era. She could have easily been called Lizarazu, or God forbid, Djorkaeff.
