That would be a tidy profit alright.
Manchester United could be welcoming some Brazilian flair to Old Trafford this summer, if comments reportedly made by Lazio club president Claudio Lotito are to be believed.
Lotito has been quoted as claiming that midfielder Felipe Anderson is on his to the Red Devils ahead of next season in a deal worth €60million.
“I bought Felipe Anderson for €8million and I have already sold him for €60million,” Lotito boasted while watching a Serie B game over the weekend.
“Next season, he will go to Manchester United.”
However, the club moved quickly to deny that Lotito made the comments, releasing a statement that read: “In reference to statements attributed to President Claudio Lotito regarding the alleged sale of the player Felipe Anderson, SS Lazio are adamant that these are devoid of any foundation.”
Anderson, who has netted six times so far this season as Lazio find themselves struggling in mid-table in Serie A, has been heavily linked to United over the past 12 months, with the Italian club rejecting a €50million offer from the Premier League side last summer.
