PSG reportedly want to sell Neymar.

Kylian Mbappe has urged Paris Saint-Germain to sell Neymar, according to reports. Mbappe recently signed a new contract that made him the world’s best-paid footballer.

The deal also reportedly gave him a massive say over football matters at PSG, and the French forward is keen to see his famous teammate exit the club this summer.

According to Spanish football journalist Diego Torres, writing for El Pais, Mbappe has asked PSG to sell the Brazilian this summer.

The forward is said to have told PSG’s owners that he feels Neymar is too ‘indisciplined’ to fit into a tactical system, and he raised concerns about the player’s ‘recovery routine’.

PSG’s Qatari owners are said to have accepted Mbappe’s instruction, despite making Neymar the world’s most expensive footballer in 2017 when they signed him from Barcelona for €222m.

They have, according to Torres, informed Neymar’s father, who acts as his agent, that they want to ‘find a way out’ for the player this summer.

Neymar Sr, however, reportedly informed the PSG bosses that his son will not leave unless the remainder of his contract is paid in full. The 30-year-old is under contract until 2027 and earns a reported €40m net a year.

The former Barcelona forward is said to feel ‘humiliated’ by PSG, and he would be prepared to leave this summer. Neymar would be open to returning to Barcelona.

Mbappe is said to have warned the club’s owners that ‘no player should be above the shield’ – despite the fact that Mbappe appears to have a level of influence that far exceeds any of his teammates.

The World Cup-winning striker also reportedly ‘demanded changes’ to how PSG operate. This has led to the exit of sports director Leonardo, and head coach Mauricio Pochettino is expected to leave this summer

Luis Campos, who worked with Mbappe at AS Monaco, has joined PSG in a sporting director role. While Christophe Galtier looks set to leave Nice to replace Pochettino.
