Kylian Mbappé sets unique terms for Chelsea transfer

Mbappé has one condition for the transfer, according to reports.

Kylian Mbappé has reportedly said that he would be open to joining Chelsea but on one specific condition – if he can join Real Madrid in 2024.

Mbappé is expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain before the end of the summer window after he told the club that he would not be signing a new contract.

Al Hilal made a world-record bid for the forward, which PSG accepted, but Mbappé refused to enter talks with them and has since been linked with moves to Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool and most commonly, Real Madrid.

PSG believe that Mbappé already has an agreement with Madrid to join them in 2024 – something that is illegal under FIFA rules.

Chelsea have been exploring the possibility of a player-plus-cash deal with the French giants, with the Independent claiming that Todd Boehly is preparing an offer despite the Blues’ lack of European football.

SPORT are now also reporting that the 24-year-old has already agreed to make the move to Stamford Bridge provided that he is allowed to join Madrid the following summer.

If a deal is agreed, it would see the World Cup winner pocket over £100m alone however it also rides on both Chelsea and PSG agreeing some sort of fee.

Despite speculation beginning to intensify, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino refused to give any hints on what may happen.

“I think in our past we were at Paris Saint Germain and with Kylian and think I need to be conscious that I cannot talk,” he said.

“Everything you talk is too much noise. It is a situation that is very delicate and one they need to fix in Paris with Kylian.

“For our side, I have nothing to say. We are working on our reality, our reality is different. From my side, nothing to say, only to support them. I hope they find a solution for both sides.

“It is a club that I love, because I was a player, a captain and coach. With Kylian we create a very good relationship, I hope they can find the best solution for both sides.”
