Jurgen Klopp doesn’t take anything for granted.
He’s a proud Liverpool man now. He even took distinct pleasure in knocking his old love Borussia Dortmund out of the Europa League because he’s at Anfield – and that’s all that matters now.
Great teams have come and gone from that famous stadium. Men were made gods emerging from the Anfield tunnel. The hands that touched that famous sign? They’re legends now.
This current Liverpool team are not there yet and Jurgen Klopp doesn’t want them taking anything for granted.
You don’t just join immortals because you want to. You have to prove you’re worth it.
And, under Klopp, this Liverpool outfit can reach all they like but they won’t touch the This Is Anfield sign – not until they’ve won something.

The German has been at Liverpool only six months now and he’s already embedded a rich culture there. One that is making folk heroes of average players. One that’s making the like of Dejan Lovren and Joe Allen endearing.
One that respects the past, bows to the greatness that went before them. And one that will not accept mediocrity. One that is determined to bring back the good times and look to the future with their chests out. As Liverpool players.
But there’ll be no posing as legends until you are legends. You must earn it at this club.
