Jurgen Klopp has not enjoyed a good day with Liverpool.

The German saw his side lose to Manchester City this afternoon in the League Cup final on penalties with Yaya Toure scoring the all important winner.

Liverpool fans that saw their side lose out 3-1 on spot-kicks were angry at seeing players such as Lucas and Emre Can step up when the need was greatest, with no sign of Divock Origi or Daniel Sturridge.

With three of Liverpool’s four takers missing, Jamie Carragher raged after the game, describing the decision to hand responsibility to two defensive midfielders, and two attackers, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana as “stupid”.

Speaking after the game, Jurgen Klopp revealed that James Milner was due to be the fifth penalty taker it had come to it, while he also explained that Sturridge was not fit enough to take part in the dramatic finale due to cramp.

Although not everyone agreed with Klopp’s version of events.
