Jose Mourinho Junior, son of the new Manchester United manager, has signed a scholarship contract with Fulham.

The 16-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the West London club, who have brought through plenty of top young talent in recent years.

He shared a photo of himself signing the deal, alongside his mother Matilde, on social media. He had been training with the club since 2015.

Mourinho Jr, who plays in goal, has been involved in the youth setups of top teams in England and Spain.

And now he joins a club whose youth team lost the FA Youth Cup final to Chelsea’s youngsters in 2014, when his father was in charge of the first team at Stamford Bridge.

The Cottagers have brought through a number of top young talents in recent years, including Celtic forward Moussa Dembélé and Manchester City’s Patrick Roberts, who is due to spend a second straight season on loan with the Bhoys.

They are potentially poised to go into the 2016/17 Championship campaign with two senior goalkeepers who came up through their youth ranks – Marcus Bettinelli and Jesse Joronen – and Mourinho Jr will hope to follow in their footsteps.
