Jose Mourinho is furious about the scheduling of some of Liverpool’s Premier League games next season.
Mourinho believes that Liverpool have an unfair advantage after the first draft of the 2018/19 fixture list was revealed on Thursday.
The schedule showed that Jurgen Klopp would have the handy advantage of playing at home on the weekends that follow each of the Reds’ six Champions League group games next term.
Mourinho has always been one to complain about opposition teams’ more favourable scheduling and The Times report that the Manchester United manager “has been left angered” by the fact that he will have to play away from Old Trafford after three of their six Champions League group games next seasons while Liverpool remain at Anfield.
The breakdown of three home and three away Premier League games following Champions League group matches is also the schedule that’s been handed to both Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
But the report also claims that neither Pep Guardiola nor Mauricio Pochettino are as bothered about Liverpool’s apparent advantage as Mourinho.
None of the teams involved in the Champions League will know the extent of their travels until the draw for the group stage, which does not take place until August.
