Jordan Henderson and his funny little hop are back (and this time they mean business)

Back by popular demand - it's the Hendo Hop

The Hendo Hop is back, ladies and gentleman

Not so long ago we brought you news of the curious case of Jordan Henderson and the funny little skip he performs moments before Liverpool score.

We were slightly concerned that by drawing attention to it we would give Henderson a bit of a complex and the hop would go into hiding.

But it seems we had nothing to worry about.

Because the Hendo Hop is back and was in full effect on Tuesday night as Henderson’s midfield partner Steven Gerrard slotted home Liverpool’s second against Spurs from the penalty spot.

Just look at him go (he’s the No14 running behind Gerrard)…

For the benefit of newcomers to this phenomenon here are some more examples of the Hendo Hop.

First against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup last month…

That one came just a couple of days after a more blatant skip by the midfielder at Villa Park.

But easily his best hop of the season came at Leicester in December…

Records from the time are sketchy but as far as we can tell the hop dates back to last season when it first appeared during the FA Cup tie against Oldham Athletic, when he worked his little jump into his goal celebration as well as in the build up to the strike.

It also got a run out during the 6-3 win at Cardiff.

We still don’t know why he is doing this. Some say he’s telepathic. Others say he just really, really likes skipping.

But all we can say is: Jordan, don’t ever change.

More on this story as we have it.
