John Delaney banner to fly over Aviva on Saturday before Ireland and Scotland game

Under pressure

John Delaney might feel a bit of pressure tomorrow.

The FAI Chief Executive is said to be the subject of a fan protest during Ireland’s European qualifier with Scotland.

An airplane banner is reportedly going to take flight over the Aviva Stadium tomorrow with the words, ‘ENOUGH IS ENOUGH DELANEY OUT’.

A group of Irish supporters have rallied together and raised what is said to be 925 euros for the banner and the flight to express their anger at recent revelations during the FIFA crisis.

The protest comes in light of last week’s news that the FAI received five millions euros from FIFA after their controversial playoff loss to France in 2009 – money which Delaney claimed was to stave off a potential lawsuit against football’s world governing body.

And some followers of Irish football look set to stage a very public protest of Saturday.
