Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart says that he wants to spend the rest of his career at the Etihad and that a new deal with the Premier League champions is close.

The 27-year-old stopper had been negotiating his new contract since the summer but believes the deal is essentially done.

"As far as I am aware it is pretty much sorted," Hart said. "I want to be here as long as I can." The England number 1 has been at Man City since his arrival from Shrewsbury in 2006 for a bargain €750,000. "I love this place and I love everything about Manchester City," he added. "I have been here for a long time. I feel like it is my club now." Hart insisted: "I am very happy at this club and hopefully in the near future I will be signing that contract."
