Jadon Sancho was reportedly nailed on to move to Manchester United this summer before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side failed to qualify for the Champions League.
The fact that United will play no part in next season's top European competition is apparently one of a couple of stumbling blocks between Sancho and the Red Devils.
BBC Sport's well-connected reporter David Ornstein has given an update on United's top transfer targets and after explaining the club's stance on defenders Kalidou Koulibaly and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, he revealed that Old Trafford was Sancho's preferred destination before United finished in sixth place in the Premier League, meaning they will be forced to play in the Europa League next term.
According to the report, Sancho would cost in excess of £100 million but the Borussia Dortmund youngster is concerned by the apparent lack of stability at United right now, although the chances of the 19-year-old making the move is 50/50.

Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all said to be monitoring the English prospect but no Premier League sides other than United have made their interest in Sancho known.
Sancho, who has been a revelation for Dortmund ever since leaving Manchester City's youth team two years ago, does not feel compelled to make a move just for the sake of the hype that has been showered on him in recent months and has made it clear that winning trophies is his top priority at this stage of his career.
