16-year-old goalkeeper Jack Porter is set to start for Arsenal tonight in the Carabao Cup third round against Bolton Wanderers, as per The Athletic.
The Gunners are taking precautions over first-choice David Raya, who showed signs of a knock against Manchester City on Sunday.
Deputy keeper Neto is cup-tied, after featuring for Bournemouth earlier in the tournament, whilst 18-year-old Tommy Setford is injured, leaving Porter the choice for the tie.
Porter turned 16 in July and has, on occasion, trained with the first team since the 2022/23 season.
Over the past few weeks, it is understood that he has had more of a presence in first-team training, having impressed with aspects of his game, such as through his handling, ball-playing ability and confidence.
Porter has previously been named in the Arsenal squad too, having been on the substitutes bench at Atalanta in the Champions League last week.
It is understood that Raya's injury is minor and he is most likely to be in contention for the clash against Leicester City in the Premier League this coming weekend.
