Grealish donated £5,000 to the family of Paige Rice, 22, who died in hospital after she was the passenger in a car which collided with a taxi in the Queensway tunnel, Liverpool, on Sunday, October 17.

As per ITV, the Manchester City and England star didn't have any relation to Rice, but got in contact with a friend who was close to the family and offered his support.

The 26-year-old was also seen commenting underneath an emotional Instagram post on Rice's account which was written by her family as a tribute following her death.

Grealish had commented a sad face emoji alongside a broken heart and four love hearts after his generous act.

Rice's mum Claire Rice described her as "the most beautiful girl, with the biggest smile, a contagious laugh and heart of gold."

Paige's mum also said that "she lived life to its fullest" and that "she had big dreams and Paige always made things happen, her drive to succeed was inspirational."

It is reported that a man in his 20s who was driving the vehicle remains critically injured, while the taxi driver in the crash continues to be in a serious but non-life threatening condition.

An investigation into the indecent has been opened by Merseyside Police with Matrix Inspector Mark Worrell providing the latest update on the situation. He said:

"Our thoughts go out to the family of the woman who died and those who were injured in this collision.

"The incident is currently under investigation and I would ask anyone who saw anything prior to the collision which could assist our enquiries to get in touch.

"It is believed that prior to entering the tunnel the Audi had been in collision with another vehicle on the Hunter Street roundabout.
