This is going to run and run…

SportsJOE loves when ex players and their former managers air their dirty laundry in public (Roy and Alex anyone?) and its even better when its between linguist extraordinaire  Paul Merson and le professeur himself Arsene Wenger.

You might recall Merson’s outburst last week when Arsenal threw away a 3-0 lead against Anderlecht and ended up drawing 3-3 in the Champions league

Watch below (and look out for Merse inventing a new term to measure distance ‘a gillion miles’)

The Arsenal boss hit back on Friday calling Merson ‘a joke’ and  telling reporters that he ‘wasn’t interested in Paul Merson’

Well lucky for us that everyone loves a good oul row in full view of the media and today Merson has hit back once again at the Arsenal chief after Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Swansea.

The former England international said in today’s Daily Star

“I think it’s childish he’s had a dig at me. Not interested in Paul Merson? He was begging me to stay when he offered me a new contract. I was surprised when I saw what he’d said about me. It shocked me. It’s weird.”

“I wasn’t a great manager. But I don’t remember drawing a game after going 3-0 up, and I never had a team full of internationals.”

Seems like its all getting a bit personal so all we can say is FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
