Great news as Pelé set to leave hospital

74 year old had been treated for a kidney infection

After a weekend when we once again saw how bloody brilliant Lionel Messi and Ronaldo are with both scoring hat-tricks, welcome news coming from Brazil tonight about a player considered the Greatest of All Time.

Doctors in Sao Paulo have confirmed that Pelé has overcome a kidney infection and will be discharged from hospital tomorrow.

The doctors from the Albert Einstein hospital have said ‘Considering his good recovery, the medical team programmed his release for tomorrow’.

The health of the Brazilian hit the headlines after a statement on his condition in late November when he was moved to an intensive care wing due to a urinary tract infection

However, he has recovered and even managed to pick up a guitar and strum his way through a massively cringey  video reassuring fans that he was recovering on Saturday, although the same could not be said for his guitar picking.

Great news about a magnificent player and no doubt the two hat-tricks by the boyos from Spain brought a smile to his face.
