Édouard Duplan had a fairly embarrassing moment during FC Utrecht’s Eredivisie clash against AFC Ajax.
The player was taken off the pitch to receive some attention on the sideline, but little did he know he was also substituted while off the pitch.
After the physio took a look at him and deemed him fit enough to play, Duplan ran back ont0 the pitch and was greeted instantly by the shrieking sound of the referee’s whistle, who called the game to a halt.
Duplan looked vexed at the official as he stomped over to the man in the middle ready to engage in a heated dispute. After some angry looking words were exchanged, the ref managed to calm him down enough to inform him that his manager had taken out of the game.
The Dutch man ran back to the bench with his tail between his legs where he laughed about the misunderstanding with a member of staff.
