Gerard Houllier denies allegations of racism by ex-Liverpool striker

Frenchman versus Frenchman

There must be something in the air with ex-Liverpool players accusing people associated with the club of being racist.

In September we had El-Hadji Diouf making the astonishing allegation that Steven Gerrard treated him unfairly while he was at the cub because of the colour of his skin, and now another case of alleged racism has surfaced.

Nicolas Anelka uploaded a video to YouTube this weekend making all sorts of bonkers accusations against former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier.

The ex-Real Madrid man has reacted to a story in Houllier’s new book about the frontman allegedly blushing at one time while at Liverpool when arguing with the manager and the former Liverpool joint-manager’s reaction:

“(I saw) for the first time in his life black men blush.”

The striker is very angry at the accusation and has hit back with some very serious allegations of racism in the video:

“What happened when you were at Liverpool and all the players, English or foreign, wanted to re-sign. You re-signed them by improving their contracts.”

“What happened when blacks, people with black skin like me, came into your office, what did you say? You haven’t written that in your book!”

But the former Aston Villa manger has responded this afternoon and is believed to be close to launching a legal action against the ex-Real Madrid man to clear his name.

Houiller has given an interview to l’Equipe in which he denies all of the accusations

“It is absolutely ludicrous and ridiculous, I never, never said that.

“This is false and  it is a serious slander. I defy anyone to say that I’m a racist with the number of black players with whom I have had the chance to work. Abidal, Diarra, Essien and many others, you will ask them.

“You ask them. I am going to see if I am going to sue.”
