The latest hot prospect at Barcelona may be skilled with his feet, but no so much with his hands

A Spanish journalist has claimed that Barcelona’s latest teenage sensation Gavi plays football with his laces undone because he doesn’t know how to tie them.

The 17-year-old has been one of the few shining stars in an otherwise difficult season for the Catalan giants, but fans have noticed that the Spaniard has been playing with his boot laces untied – leading to questions over whether it was a superstition of the youngster.

But journalist Marc Marba Prats has explained the real reason which is quite simple – he doesn’t know how to tie them.

The reason why Barcelona midfielder Gavi play with his laces undone.

He said: “Gavi has been playing with his laces untied since he was very young, it’s because he doesn’t know how to tie them well.

“He doesn’t care and he plays like that.”

It seems as though Gavi’s difficulty hasn’t received any sympathy from his teammates.

Fellow Barça player Nico Gonzalez took to his Instagram story to post a picture of him helping out the youngster to tie his shoes for him, hinting that it would be time for Gavi to learn himself by saying “Time to learn…”

It seems like La Masia can teach you to be a pretty decent footballer, but not necessarily every fundamental life skill.

Despite his lack of luck when it comes to shoes, it hasn’t hindered his chances on the pitch. So far, Gavi has made 21 appearances, with some key standout performances which have even led to him being fast-tracked into the Spanish national team under Luis Enrique.

Meanwhile, La Blaugrana are in the process of trying to tie down their future star to a long-term deal according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, with the new contract expected to inflate the €50 million release clause he currently has.
