We can’t imagine Gary Neville was overly concerned about being punished for his tweet after Saturday’s Champions League final.
Liverpool supporters were furious with Neville’s immediate reaction to the Reds’ defeat to Real Madrid in Kiev as the former Manchester United right-back mocked their shortcomings, as one would expect.
Neville composed a tongue-in-cheek poem and posted it to Twitter in the immediate aftermath of the final, turning the screw for Liverpool fans in the process.

While United supporters loved the tweet, it’s fair to say that it wasn’t received well on Merseyside given the freshness of the wound into which Neville was dumping generous helpings of salt.
But Sky Sports, Neville’s current employers, have revealed that they don’t intend to take any action against the outspoken pundit for his goading of Liverpool fans.
“We are aware of what Gary said on Twitter after the Champions League final, but it is not considered an issue,” a Sky Sports spokesperson told the Daily Mail.
The former United defender reacted to the report in a fashion that suggested he was never worried about any punitive measures.

While Gary’s tweet may have annoyed some, nobody was actually hurt by his obvious joke and it’s baffling to think that anybody would want to see him actually punished for it.
Thankfully, he won’t be.
