One of the bigger talking points from Manchester United’s narrow 1-0 victory over Brighton on Saturday went completely unmentioned on Match of the Day on Saturday night. And some viewers wanted to know why.
Romelu Lukaku’s kick in the direction of Brighton full back Gaetan Bong in the build-up to Ashley Young’s fortuitous strike at Old Trafford left the travelling fans feeling rightly hard done by.

The incident was not spotted by referee Neil Swarbrick but, in all likelihood, Lukaku will probably be retrospectively banned once the incident is reviewed by the FA on Monday.
A three-match ban, which is what is expected, should follow and rule the United forward out of the upcoming crucial Premier League clashes against Arsenal and Manchester City.
Early on Monday morning, Match of the Day host Gary Lineker took to Twitter to explain why the incident was not highlighted by the panel on Saturday.
And it’s very simple really – perhaps a bit too simple.
We didn’t see it at the time. We had 5 games to watch at 3pm. Wasn’t mentioned by a single Sunday newspaper. Only came to light after a few Brighton fans mentions on Twitter late on Saturday night. Certainly was not a decision to not show it. 🙄 https://t.co/cPRR2vukaG

They went for the Wenger route.
