Fleetwood Town are actually trying to sell a Joey Barton documentary

No sooner had Joey Barton walked through the door than Fleetwood Town slapped a microphone on him.

Barton has only just begun taking his first steps into management and the League One side is eager to make the absolute most out of the arrangement. According to a report in the Daily Mail, Fleetwood are hoping to sell the story of Barton's debut season in the dugout and the club has already held talks with both Sky Sports and the BBC. Netflix are also believed to be a potential buyer, with figures in the realm of £1 million being touted, and there is no denying the interest that exists from the public in witnessing how Barton behaves behind the scenes. The report claims that Fleetwood hired a production team immediately after they agreed to sign Barton to a deal once the 35-year-old served a suspension for placing 1,260 bets on football matches over 10 years. Barton has been wearing a microphone throughout his tenure thus far but hasn't been recorded during matches. Fleetwood won one and lost one of their opening pair of league games under Barton before the Cod Army claimed a penalty shootout victory over Crewe Alexandra in the Carabao Cup this week.
