Fernando Torres sent off for threatening ex-Liverpool teammate Alvaro Arbeloa in heated touchline spat

The two were managing their Under-19 sides at the weekend

Fernando Torres came to blows on the touchline with his former Liverpool teammate Alvaro Arbeloa last weekend as the pair were sent off.

The pair spent two-and-a-half years together at Anfield however things got heated on Sunday afternoon when the pair squared up on the touchline during the U19s game between Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid.

Footage online appears to show Torres shoving Arbeloa after the latter had confronted him in response to a flare-up on the pitch, leaving the former full back angry and gesticulating.

Torres then proceeded to push his managerial counterpart before shouting: "I'll blow your head off". Arbeloa then replied: "Start whenever you want".

Arbeloa was booked for his actions whereas Torres was given his marching orders, to the delight of the Real Madrid fans, leading to several Atlético players and staff storming the pitch to confront the referee.

Los Blancos would go on to win the game 4-2 on penalties after the game finished 2-2 in normal and extra-time to set up a Youth Cup semi final against Las Palmas.

During their time together as players, Torres and Arbeloa featured alongside each other 94 times for Liverpool and Spain, losing just 10 of those games.
