Fans are not happy Adam Johnson is still on the FIFA 16 game

Adam Johnson has been told by a judge to expect a lengthy jail sentence after being convicted of sexual activity with a 15 year old girl.

The former England international pleaded guilty to one count of child grooming and another of sexual activity with a child – then later found guilty of a further count of sexual activity with a child during a Bradford Crown Court trial.

He could face a maximum of 10 years in jail for the child sex crimes against the teenage fan.

Johnson was also sacked from Sunderland FC when he first lodged a guilty plea to some of the charges and lost a sponsorship deal with Adidas.

But the 28-year-old winger is still a playable character on the FIFA 16 game and can still be signed for a club by players.

The Sun report that moves have been made by makers of the game to remove Johnson – but have failed to completely wipe him from the system.

EA Games issues a weekly software update to reflect transfers and players’ real life performances on the game.

But Johnson is still yet to be totally deleted from the gme which has sold more than 2.5m copies in the UK.

“Johnson should be removed from FIFA 16,” Gabrielle Shaw, CEO of National Association for People Abused in Childhood, said.

“This game is played by millions of children a day, so EA games has a responsibility to act.

“Johnson was chosen for his appeal to children and his hero status and he has wrecked both himself.”

Fans on Twitter had their say on the matter too…

EA Games say that an update was made to delete Johnson from the game but a technical issues means that it may still appear on some players’ versions. Users should install the latest update on the game.
