UCD beat Queen’s University 2-1 in Wednesday’s final.

Daire O’Connor struck a superb later winner for UCD as they beat Queen’s University to clinch the Collingwood Cup.

A thoroughly entertaining match was headed for a 1-1 draw, after Timmy Molloy’s opener and Ronan Young’s free-kick leveller, until O’Connor popped up with a cracking goal with barely any time left to spare, cutting in from the left wing before unleashing an unstoppable drive into the far corner.

The FAI Facebook page was live streaming the game from The Dub in Belfast but, due to some technical issues, it cut out right before O’Connor’s goal in stoppage-time.

With the score at 1-1, the stream suddenly jumped to a free-kick being taken after O’Connor had already scored.

O’Connor was named Player of the Tournament as UCD lifted the trophy for the 47th time. You can see two of the three goals from the match on the FAI’s stream. Warning: the quality isn’t great.
