However, Ferguson has made a decision on his immediate future and Brighton fans will be delighted to hear that he will be staying at the club.
The goal getter has hit the net seven times since making his way onto Roberto De Zerbi’s team in the second half of the season, and he seems to get better with every game.
"Evan Ferguson is very important for us, and he can keep improving a lot," De Zerbi said on Tuesday afternoon.
"He's still young, he's still just 18 - we can't forget that. He has been playing very well and we missed him on Sunday, he has different qualities."
Ferguson had three years remaining on his current contract but this extension has been deemed as a reward for his incredible performances to date. Judging by his progression at the club, Stephen Kenny and Ireland fans will be happy enough for the striker to remain at Brighton and continue his development there.

When you take into consideration his age, how fast he's progressing, and the way that Brighton have treated him so far, this seems like the best move for everyone involved for the short term at least.
