€5m per season but Bastian Schweinsteiger only seventh on list of best paid MLS stars

Over the last few years, we’ve seen some prestigious Premier League alumni make the move across the Atlantic as Robbie Keane, Steven Gerrard, Ashley Cole and more recently, Bastian Schweinsteiger, have all joined the MLS revolution.

The salary information for all players currently playing in the league has been released by the Major League Soccer Players Union and Orlando City midfielder Kaka is be the highest-paid player in Major League Soccer this season, with Chicago Fire’s Bastian Schweinsteiger seventh.

Former Real Madrid man Kaka earns £5.6m, with ex-Manchester United and Bayern Munich midfielder Schweinsteiger earning £4.2m. Toronto forward Sebastian Giovinco (£5.5m) and midfielder Michael Bradley (£5.1m) complete the top three.

Elsewhere, former Arsenal and Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole is getting paid £294,283 this season by LA Galaxy.
