Ronaldo beats out Messi again

Dominance of a sport is a very difficult element to quantify but this list actually had quite a good crack at it.

BusinessInsider compiled their top 50 of the most dominant athletes alive and there are very few surprise choices.

All three Ballon d’Or nominees from last year – Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer – make the list, with PSG’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic also coming in at number 43.

Top spot on the list goes to UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and with her superiority in mixed martial arts, it’s really hard to make an argument against the selection.

LeBron James was picked in second spot thanks to the impact he brought back to Cleveland while “unbeatable” Serena Williams is in third place. Cristiano Ronaldo and Usain Bolt make up the top five.

Another few notable inclusions for us on this side of the world are Novak Djokovic (9), Rory McIlroy (12) and Lewis Hamilton (45).
