Did Arsenal new boy delete Twitter account after being exposed as a Manchester United fan?

Footballers' allegiances as a fan really shouldn't stop them succeeding anywhere as a player, yet some prefer to play things safe.

We're all well aware of that photo of a young Harry Kane in an Arsenal shirt, or the fact that Jamie Carragher supported Everton in his childhood, but that didn't stop the pair flourishing at Tottenham and Liverpool respectively. However, Arsenal's newest signing has taken the measure of shutting down his Twitter account after suggestions that his allegiances lie with Manchester United. Cohen Bramall finalised his move from non-league Hednesford Town for a five-figure fee this week, a surprise move and one which put his social media exploits in the public eye. And football.london reports that old tweets - showing apparent support for the Old Trafford club - may have been responsible for him deciding Twitter simply wasn't worth the hassle. Arsenal's official Twitter account had appeared to confirm that the @cbramall96 account belonged to the youngster. And the mention of that account led some fans to do some digging, and to their credit they went back more than four years to uncover the supposedly incriminating evidence. Bramall, who was just 16 years old at the time, tweeted 'For the people who hate United...suck out' after the Red Devils' come-from-behind 4-3 Premier League victory over Newcastle United on Boxing Day 2012. And, while the left-back may have deactivated his account, the internet doesn't forget. And if he ever features for the Gunners against Manchester United, we're sure people will be quick to remind him.
