David De Gea admits he feels 'embarrassed' playing for Man United sometimes
'For me, I feel embarrassed sometimes.'
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has admitted to being embarrassed at times on the pitch this season.
The Red Devils have endured a difficult campaign, currently sitting in sixth position in the Premier League and out of all the cup competitions.
Ralf Rangnick's side face an uphill battle to secure a top-four place at the end of the season, with recent defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal severely impacting their position in the table.
Now, goalkeeper De Gea, who has been at Old Trafford since 2011, has admitted it was 'painful' to lose to rivals Liverpool at Anfield, and that he feels 'horrible' on the pitch.
De Gea feels 'embarrassed'
Speaking to Sky Sports, the Spaniard said: "It's tough, for me it's very tough, I've been here many years and being there on the pitch [at Anfield vs Liverpool] and being 4-0 down is too painful.

"For me I feel embarrassed sometimes, it's difficult to say but I feel horrible on the pitch, so this is why we have to change this mindset and everything and come on, everyone do more and try to win games and be there in the top positions."
United's underwhelming defence
Despite the Red Devils conceding 51 goals this season - the most in the top 10 of the Premier League - De Gea has performed well individually. United have recorded just nine clean sheets in all competitions this campaign, which has played a significant part in their underwhelming season.
Red Devils squad 'ambivalent' by Ten Hag appointment
Erik ten Hag's appointment as United manager has reportedly been met with a mixed reception from the squad, with some players ambivalent and others underwhelmed.
The 52-year-old will leave his position as Ajax manager at the end of the season to take charge at Old Trafford, where he will replace interim manager Rangnick.
