David Moyes denies Aston Villa rumours and vows to fight on at Real Sociedad

Until he's kicked out

David Moyes refused to discuss speculation linking him with a return to England after watching his Real Sociedad side slip to 16th in La Liga.

La Real lost 2-0 at home to Atletico Madrid in controversial circumstances on Sunday, which saw two players red carded after the hosts were denied what looked like a clear penalty.

After the game, Sociedad supporters chanted for Moyes to leave, but the Scot dismissed reports that he could be in line to replace Tim Sherwood at Aston Villa.

“During the pre-season I had contact with clubs, which is normal, because they know my statistics, but my intention is to stay here at La Real, I’m not thinking about anything else,” he said.

“You saw the hard work and determination the players put in, how they fought. I’m very happy with that and I want to stay, there are no doubts in my mind.”

If results fail to improve soon, it could be out of Moyes’s hands.
