Crystal Palace set to add a second Benteke to their ranks

Two better than one

Not content with the one Benteke, Crystal Palace are eager to add a second to their squad.

After signing Christian Benteke for a club-record £27 million fee, rescuing him from his Liverpool limbo, Palace are set to bring in another forward of the same name by signing the younger brother of the Belgium international.

Jonathan Benteke terminated his contract with S.V. Zulte Waregem and the Mirror reported that he was about to join up with his older brother at Selhurst Park after training with the Premier League side in recent weeks.

The 21-year-old is unlikely to become a part of the plans of first team manager Alan Pardew as he is expected to link up with the Eagles’ development squad.

Jonathan’s one goal in 17 appearances last season would suggest that he has a way to go before reaching Premier League quality but that’s not according to this optimistic Palace fan, who believes he can see a bright future for the BentekeX2 partnership.
