Tim Shiels who is a member of the Shountrade AFC board told JOE:
"The Board would like to stress that this is just an opening offer and there is a bit of wiggle room in it.
"He would be joining a club with pedigree. We have a few former county minors.... hurling in fairness but what's hurling really only soccer with sticks," he said.
"We also have a lad that recently won a 400m inter-club race at the Limerick dog track and we just feel we are in the right position to take Ronaldo's career to the next level.
"The Board are offering an initial one-year contract 'til we have a look at him. Offer subject to medical which will be organised at the club. He may need to go by another name for that though because we will be borrowing a medical card," Shiels concluded.
