A list of so called superstars Conor Bradley has statistically surpassed this season already

Lee Costello

Bradley is already in good company.

Liverpool’s Conor Bradley has only played two Premier League matches this season, but his impact in those games has seen him already surpass a list of so called superstars.

Jurgen Klopp would have been worried when Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up a knee injury after a Man of the Match performance against Arsenal the FA Cup, but Bradley has made the transition seamlessly.

Despite the pressure of having such big shoes to fill the Tyrone native has not only performed well, but surpassed all expectations, and has now won the Man of the Match award in his last two games consecutively.

With a goal and three assists already chalked up in a grand total of 151 minutes of Premier League football, just over a game and a half, the Irishman is making big money superstars look rather silly with their stats so far this season.

Man United winger Antony cost the club a whopping £82 million, and despite playing 17 PL games this year so far, he is still to register a single assist or goal for the Red Devil’s.

Marcus Rashford is in a lot of hot water after he was caught partying in Belfast and pulling a sickie to work, but when you look at the fact that in his 20 games in the league so far he has only racked up two assists, while this kid is overpassing him in a fraction of the time – well, United fans are not happy.

A list of so called superstars Conor Bradley has statistically surpassed this season already.

However it isn’t just players who are struggling and underperforming this season that should feel insecure about Bradley’s rapid emergence, as there is a list of big names who are dubbed to be their team’s best and most creative players that might be feeling a bit inadequate in comparison.

Martin Odeagaard

the Arsenal captain is central to everything that is good about Mikel Arteta’s team, and his three assists in the league so far looked to healthy until you compared him to the young right back on Merseyside.

Bruno Fernandes

Not only is Bruno Fernandes regarded as one of the best players at Man United, if not thee best player, he is also credited as one of the most creative footballers the International stage, with an impressive range of passing, and ability, however he too is now matched on the assists list by a certain full back.

Gabriel Jesus

Conor Bradley

Arsenal fans have accepted that Gabriel Jesus is never going to be a prolific goalscorer, but rather a link-up player who can get a couple goals, knit the play together and rack up some assists, but the three that he has under his belt so far this season means Bradley has already matched him, despite being a defender.

Raheem Sterling

Although not enjoying his football at Chelsea, Raheem Sterling was one of the most exciting players in England, and a key part of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City team that dominated for years, but even with his unorthodox style, bag of tricks, and direct approach, the winger has only three assists to his name as well.

Kyle Walker

Let’s go with a direct comparison in terms of position, and compare Bradley to Man City’s Kyle Walker, who is regarded as the best full back in the Premier League. The Englishman has played 20 games for City this season, but has only managed two assists compared to Bradley’s three.

Context

Of course we understand that stats do not tell the whole story, and that a lot of these players mentioned are actually enjoying brilliant seasons and fulfilling their roles in other areas, but there is no escaping the fact that what Bradley has done since breaking into the Liverpool team and in such a short period of time, is amazing.
