WATCH: Chris Forrester leaves opposition fans in awe with a filthy nutmeg

Brilliant from Chris Forrester...

Robert Redmond

An outrageous piece of skill from Chris Forrester.

Fans of St Patrick’s Athletic and League of Ireland clubs have known of the midfielder’s talents for years.

Forrester scored a number of brilliant goals for the Inchicore side before joining Peterborough United in August 2015.

The 23-year-old carried his great form across the water, and has impressed enough at the League One club to earn a new contract, the club captaincy and comparisons to Michael Carrick.

Forrester has also been named in a provisional Republic of Ireland squad, and is surely within reach of being considered for a cap by Martin O’Neill.

After all, Wes Hoolahan aside, Ireland don’t have many players who can make a defender look this foolish, or provoke this type of reaction from opposition fans.

Forrester was part of the Peterborough side which claimed a 2-1 win away to Bristol Rovers on Saturday. He also produced the best piece of skill in the game and most likely the entirety of League One this weekend.

The Dubliner appeared to be penned into the corner by Bristol defender Lee Brown, after latching onto a long ball forward. However, Forrester produced a moment of magic, rolling the ball forward slightly, prompting Brown to move in and try win a tackle, the Peterborough captain quickly rolled it through his legs before passing it to a teammate.

The piece of skill was that good, you can hear the Bristol ground gasp, while two fans are left noticeably gobsmacked.
