Liverpool’s players will have to try and beat Sunderland today without a mad German shouting and roaring at them from the sideline.
And we don’t mean Emre Can.
It’s being confirmed this afternoon that Jurgen Klopp will not be able to attend today’s home clash with the Black Cats as he has has been struck down with appendicitis.
The manager is understood to have been rushed to hospital late last night and the sideline duties will be taken by his coaching staff of Zelkjo Buvac and Peter Krawietz.
It is unclear yet if Klopp will need to have surgery or whether the hospital visit is a mere precaution.
Liverpool confirmed the news in a statement just after midday.
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp will be absent from today’s Barclays Premier League fixture against Sunderland at Anfield, after suffering a suspected bout of appendicitis.
No great concern for Liverpool that Jurgen Klopp is missing. His assistant Zeljko Buvac has filled in more than ably for his boss many times
