Bosnian winger loses part of his finger after horrific gym accident

That might sting

We are having second thoughts about heading to the gym later.

Staying away from the big boy weights, we are never really at any great risk of injury.

The treadmill, exercise bike and the rowing machine all seem pretty safe, so we can only assume that Bosnian midfielder Senad Lulic must have injured himself in some type of horrible weights-based exercise.

How else would he rip off the top of his fourth finger?

His club Lazio released news of the injury last night and revealed that the 29-year-old suffered an horrendous accident during a training session, which may see him lose the entire finger.

A club statement revealed the graphic sounding nature of the injury, as he “…suffered the traumatic sub-amputation of the distal phalanx and fracture of the fourth finger, plus fracture of the intermediary phalanx of the third finger”.

That all means that the top of the finger is gone and his middle finger has suffered a very severe break.

Lulic is to undergo surgery to try and repair the damage to both fingers at a clinic in Rome and is unlikely to be back in action until well after Christmas.

The midfielder played against Ireland in both legs of the Euro 2016 play off  last month.
