Arsenal fans rip Tottenham Hotspur to shreds on White Hart Lane’s final day

They never miss a chance to goad their rivals

Today will be Tottenham Hotspur’s last ever game at White Hart Lane.

It has been their home for the last 118 years, but Spurs will bid an emotional farewell to the North-London grounds after their clash with Manchester United on Sunday. Tottenham are moving to Wembley next season as the demolition and redevelopment of White Hart Lane will occur with the construction of a new 61,000+ seat stadium set to begin on the famed stadium.

The London ground has played host to some famous occasions for Spurs. They’ve won two European finals on their own turf.

This season has seen Mauricio Pochettino’s play some of the best football the ground has ever seen. His side are bidding for a 14th successive home league win when they face Manchester United today. This would equal the club record. They can also go unbeaten at home in a league season for the first time since the 1964-65 season.

Tottenham fans see today as a chance to celebrate the great times they’ve had at the grounds since it became their home in 1899.

Chairman Daniel Levy led the tributes,

“This Club and this stadium have been here longer than any of us and the Club and new stadium will be here long after us all – we are merely the custodians of this great institution. It’s our turn to look after it, grow it and support it.”

Arsenal fan’s were having none of it however. The Gunners faithful took to twitter this morning to dampen the Spurs fans parade.

Some unwanted truths for the Spurs fans,

Piers Morgan, as you would expect, was quick to join in on the fun.

That’s got to hurt..

They never miss a chance, do they?

Spurs fans can take comfort from the fact that they are set to finish ahead of Arsenal in the league for their first time in 22 years.
