Julian Draxler has been linked with a Premier League move more often than most, and the German international’s latest comments are only going to ratchet up the rumours.
Draxler only joined Wolfsburg from Schalke last summer, but now seems keen to part ways with the club that finished eighth in last season’s Bundesliga.
“I made it clear to (head coach) Dieter Hecking after we were knocked out of Euro 2016 in the semi-final that I would like to leave Wolfsburg,” the 22-year-old told Bild.
“The coach has known about this for three weeks. It’s very surprising that they have been talking about me to the media for weeks.”
Draxler decided to clear up the situation after the German paper published a story claiming he wanted to stay at the Volkswagen Arena…apparently without contacting the player to confirm that was the case.
He has given no indication of whether he is keen to remain in Germany or whether a move to England is on the cards, but that hasn’t stopped Arsenal fans doing their thing.

We’re looking forward to the deal falling through and Arsenal making Jonny Evans their only signing on deadline day. It might not be what the people want, but some will say it’s what they need right now.
