The first Arsenal Fan TV of the season didn’t disappoint

Robert Redmond

“Aaron Ramsey was about as useful as Gordon Ramsay.”

On Sunday, Arsenal had their first game since 1996 without Arsene Wenger as manager. Yet, it all felt like business as usual.

The Gunners lost 2-0 to Manchester City in their opening match of the Premier League season.

Unai Emery’s first outing as Arsenal manager ended like so many of Wenger’s games in the final years of his tenure – with the crowd teeming out of the Emirates as the home side lost without putting up much of a fight.

There is a lot of work ahead for Emery and that could mean Arsenal Fan TV will be very busy over the next few months.

The popular YouTube channel, which gives a forum for Gunners supporters to voice their views, became the background noise in the late-Wenger era.

If you thought Arsene’s exit would mean the end of Arsenal Fan TV you were highly mistaken. They were back on Sunday following the defeat to City, and some were as animated as ever.

Regular contributor Claude said Aaron Ramsey was as effective on the pitch as 51-year-old celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay would be.

He also compared Arsenal’s summer investment to someone shopping in a “f***ing car boot sale”.

Troopz, another regular contributor, then gave his Arsenal player ratings for the performance and they weren’t kind.

Petr Cech got four out of 10, Mesut Ozil also got four out of 10 and Granit Xhaka got just two out of 10.

But DT urged Arsenal fans to be patient and said that it will take time for Emery’s methods to work at the Emirates.

“It’s a process, it’s a new era,” he said.

“We cried for this. Don’t f***ing moan about it once you got it. We move on, let’s go to next week.”

Next up for Arsenal is a trip to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea.
