Anfield has been ranked as the best stadium in the Premier League as per a new study from Protectivity, an event insurance specialist.
The specialists analysed Google reviews for the 20 current Premier League stadiums, alongside the three homes of the recently relegated sides - Burnley, Luton Town and Sheffield United.
Anfield Stadium ranked in top spot, with 86.99% of five-star reviews. Out of 45,171 reviews, 39,293 visitors gave the home of the 2019/20 Premier League champions a perfect rating. As a result, the average score for the stadium was an impressive 4.7/5.
Alongside hosting Arne Slot's Liverpool FC, Anfield has also welcomed world-renowned artists such as Taylor Swift and The Rolling Stones.
In second place came the state-of-the-art Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, boasting a 84.33% five star rating. The stadium has hosted Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour this year, where the artist took to the stage to perform hits such as Love on Top and Crazy in Love.
In third place came the home of Nottingham Forest, The City Ground. Renowned for a brilliant, hostile atmosphere, 80.76% gave a five star rating. The City Ground has become a Premier League mainstay in recent times following promotion in 2022.
Ranking in fourth is the largest stadium in the Premier League - Old Trafford. An iconic venue and the Theatre of Dreams which attract millions a season, 80.53% left five star reviews.
Rounding up the top five, is Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, where 79.08% of reviews rated it 5-stars. In more recent years, the stadium has seen the Arctic Monkeys and The Killers perform.
At the bottom end of the scale, Kenilworth Road was found to be the lowest-rated Premier League stadium, with just 62.21% of reviews being 5-stars. An additional 10.64% of reviews were found to rate Luton’s home ground just 1-star.
This comes despite the stadium going viral last season for the iconic Oak Stand away end entrance, which involves walking over a garden. We'll never forget that. Premier League heritage.
Speaking on the findings, Sean Walsh, head of Marketing at Protectivity said:
“Exploring which stadiums are the highest rated by visitors is interesting as high ratings often reflect an exceptional fan experience. Visitors tend to appreciate aspects such as comfortable seating, clear sightlines, accessibility, and the overall atmosphere.”
“Stadiums with high review satisfaction often excel in fan engagement, offering various activities, fan zones, and interactive experiences. They foster a sense of community and belonging, which is crucial for building long-term loyalty among fans.”
“Comparing stadium ratings can provide benchmarks and best practices. Stadiums with lower ratings can learn from the top-rated ones to improve their own facilities and services."
