Alex Ferguson sent a lovely video message to Paul Scholes
Sir Alex Ferguson sent a video message to Paul Scholes this week.
Ferguson was unable to attend Manchester United's 33rd annual charity sportsman's dinner, which paid tribute to Scholes' contribution to the club over the years.
Ferguson is still recovering from the brain haemorrhage he suffered in May and while he wasn't well enough to venture into Old Trafford for the celebration, the Scot did send a video message to the man of the hour.
A message from Ferguson was played on the screens at the ceremony on Thursday night.
Discussing one of United's most decorated players of all time, Ferguson said:
"What a career, the goals he scored are unbelievable, he was an absolutely perfect player and no matter how many great players we've had in the past, Paul sits in the great pantheon of those players, there's no question about that."

Scholes, a member of Ferguson's famous Class of '92, won 11 Premier League titles, three FA Cups, two Champions Leagues, two League Cups, the Intercontinental Cup and the Club World Cup during his time in the Red Devils' midfield.
Scholes remains one of the club's greatest ever players and while he has been rather critical of United in recent years, the midfield legend is remembered fondly by supporters.
