Alan Shearer isn’t always everyone’s cup of tea in the pundit’s chair.
But tonight he’s gone and said exactly what every England fan will be thinking tonight.
The former Newcastle and England legend did not mince his words one bit reflecting on Roy Hodgson’s side performance against Iceland which ended in a humiliating 2-1 defeat.
After going 1-0 up through a Wayne Rooney penalty just four minutes in, they bottled it like they’ve done in so many other big games in the past.
We’ve seen some shite England nights before now, but the Euro 96 striker reckons this topped the lot.
Shearer absolutely destroyed England, saying: “That was the worst performance I’ve ever seen from and England team. Ever. From start to finish from the game.
“We were out-fought, we were out-thought and we were out-battled and we were totally hopeless for 90 minutes.”

There weren’t many people leaping to England’s defence on Twitter and many thought Shearer’s brutal appraisal of England’s most dismal night was pretty spot on…
@BBCMOTD @alanshearer @HarryPowell123 this is 100% correct
