Accrington Stanley are selling tickets for Manchester United tie that never existed

This is what you COULD have won

We truly love it when a club chances their arm with a cheeky money-making scheme.

Accrington Stanley have put tickets for an FA Cup match between themselves and Manchester United up for sale. The only problem is that the game never happened.

Stanley could have taken on Louis van Gaal’s side IF they had managed to overcome Yeovil in a replay of their second round fixture last month.

But it was Yeovil who came out victorious and hosted the Red Devils yesterday in a 2-0 defeat.

That didn’t stop Stanley from printing 250 tickets for the imaginary clash with the Premier League giants, each of will cost a hardcore fan £20.

The money will go towards “strengthening the squad” according to Stanley chairman Peter Marsden.

Manager John Coleman said: “This isn’t about dwelling on what might have been. It would have been magnificent to play Manchester United but it was akin to being on holiday.

“Holidays quickly come and go and we have a league campaign to focus on.”
