Aaron Ramsey takes to Instagram to comment on Danny Drinkwater’s horror foul

Aaron Ramsey is lucky that his leg is still attached to his body after Danny Drinkwater’s horrendous challenge.

Leicester City finished their 2-1 loss to Arsenal on Sunday with 10 men on the field, after Danny Simpson was handed a soft second yellow for pulling Olivier Giroud’s jersey. However, the Foxes were lucky to finish with that many on the pitch as Drinkwater managed to avoid punishment for a potential leg-breaker on Ramsey.

The Arsenal midfielder was taken out after Drinkwater’s studs went crashing into his calf, causing him to roll around the ground attempting to win the free-kick. Ramsey was criticised for making an immaculate recovery after looking as if he needed to be taking off for treatment when the referee didn’t award his side the foul.

Ramsey got back to his feet to complain to the referee for failing to award the clear foul, which the replays show was particularly nasty.

The Welshman commented on the foul on a post he was tagged in on Instagram and confirmed (as if it needed confirming) that it was a sore challenge. He also credited Drinkwater for approaching him after the final whistle to apologise for the tackle.
