The Welshman was bidding farewell to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

You can see how people took this the wrong way.

Aaron Ramsey took to Instagram on Thursday evening to bid farewell to outgoing teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who finalised a move to Liverpool on transfer deadline day.

But the Welshman was forced to return to his original post and edit it after supporters were led to believe that Ramsey wrapped up his tribute by taking a shot at the Gunners.

“Another of our British boys heading on to new things. Not only have we lost a great player we’ve lost a great guy in the changing room,” Ramsey wrote.

“It is sad to see you go mate. Had some great memories over the years playing along side you and I wish you all the best with this new chapter in your life,” he added before closing out the post with #theOX and #shaaambles.

Given the frustrations that Arsenal fans felt throughout the transfer window, they understandably felt that their midfielder was pointing to the shambolic nature of the way the club is currently being run.

And while the post has since been changed to remove the final hashtag, the confusion has since been somewhat cleared up.

Reports have emerged since the post which claim that “Shambles” was a nickname given to Oxlade-Chamberlain by his Arsenal teammates due to the 24-year-old’s issues with being punctual.

So Ramsey wasn’t taking a shot… apparently.
