Aaron Connolly could be about to land on his feet after a difficult few months without a club, with Celtic reportedly interested in signing the Republic of Ireland forward.
The former Brighton & Hove Albion striker did well for Hull during the first half of last season - scoring eight goals in the Championship before the turn of the year.
However, a mixture of injuries and a poor run of form led to the Championship club choosing not to renew his contract at the end of the campaign.
After a summer transfer window of rumours without any concrete offers, reports from Scotland are now suggesting that Celtic are interested in bringing the Oranmore man to Glasgow.
If Matt O'Riley completes his move to Brighton in the next week and Kyogo Furuhashi makes a shock switch to Manchester City, Brendan Rodgers might look to the 24-year-old Irishman to bolster his attack.
A move to the SPL winners would see Connolly link up with his fellow Republic of Ireland international Adam Idah, who secured a permanent move to the Hoops last week.
The Cork-native had a loan spell at the club, which saw him score the winning goal in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park against Rangers.
While rumours in England suggest Middlesbrough and Luton Town are also interested in securing Connolly's signature, it's likely the player himself would favour a move to the Scottish champions.
According to The Celtic Star, Rodgers has said that he would like to have three striking options going into the new season, with two first-pick players supplemented by a third player for development.
Given that Connolly is a year older than Idah, it is unlikely that he would fall into the category of a development player.
