If someone mistakes you for Brian O’Driscoll, do yourself a favour and correct the error.
It can be mighty tempting to play along when you get mistaken for a genuine celebrity. Being in the public eye brings a lot of advantages and to just visit that realm as a layman can be quite the adventure.
However, lying is inherently wrong. Intentionally deceiving someone by pretending to be something you’re not is never a good idea. If you believe in karmic forces, the impending comeuppance should be enough to dissuade you from letting that fabrication run.
If that doesn’t do it, perhaps this cautionary tale of a man impersonating Brian O’Driscoll in 2003 will.

One of O’Driscoll’s followers admitted that when he was in Australia in 2003, he attempted to eh… court one of the local ladies by telling her that he was the Irish centre who donned the blonde highlights and the fingerless gloves (that wasn’t even the style of that time).
Things started heading south when a group of Irishmen began cracking up when things started getting hot and heavy between the chancer and the Aussie in the bar.
