Irish forward nominated for World Rugby Women’s Player of the Year

Ireland's Sophie Spence has been nominated for the 2015 World Rugby Women’s Player of the Year award.

The 27-year-old has been shortlisted alongside New Zealand scrum half Kendra Cocksedge, and France captain Gaëlle Mignot, for the award. Spence players her club rugby for Leinster, featured for Ireland at last year's World Cup and was named Irish Women's Player of the Year just last week. The second row is a native of Newcastle, in England's north-east, but her mother is from Lisburn in Co. Antrim.
