Paul O’Connell wades onto Twitter to put BT Sport in its place

We will let someone else tell Paulie it is 'poc' not 'puc'

SportsJOE

There is only one solution to this – get POC onto Rugby Tonight to show us all how it’s done

We all applauded when, inspired by Tomás O’Leary’s appearance on Rugby Tonight, host Ben Kay showed off his hurling skills. The former England international and World Cup winner swung a blade of ash and rightfully earned kudos for being quite good at it.

Not everyone, it seems, was impressed. Ireland captain Paul O’Connell – a proud son of Limerick – took to Twitter to correct the broadcaster for using an inaccurate sporting parlance.

As many have since pointed out, including Leinster’s press spokesperson, the correct phrase is ‘poc’ but will anyone be brave enough to say it to POC’s face?

Hat-tips aplenty to Donn O’Sullivan for leading us to the water yet daring us not to drink.
